Thank you for filling in the details of that moment in history. It was an engaging read.

When I see pictures and stories of death and destruction in Africa I am reminded of Kim DuToit's excellent essay Let Africa Sink. It should be evident by now that there is no saving them, and all the years of Western charity since the end of colonialism has only compounded the problem.

Thank you very much. I've heard that essay referenced several times before, and probably should have already read it by this point, but I've just pulled it up in another tab and will assuredly have a look when I get the chance. But yes, it does seem incredible that people haven't yet accepted that "uplifting Africa" is a dangerous pipedream, although I'm no longer surprised at how insistently some westerners cling to their delusions. Purely anecdotal, of course,, but some of the most "racist" individuals I've ever met have been former members of the Peace Corps who've seen the inner workings of the continent firsthand. If Africa is to resolve it's dysfunction, it has to come from within, although if the accounts of those people are anything to go by, that is functionally impossible. Thanks again.

Fascinating read. Great writing, and insight. The importance of looking at Africa with clear eyes, rather than indulging in guilt and 'altruism' is perhaps greater now than ever before.

Mother of all humanity (well at least the 96% of the bodies of all of us) -- the continent of Africa -- so horrifyingly sorrowful and yet so flippantly pathetic.

And the abhorrent attitude of those who abandoned her for other realms towards her.

A rather good piece you've got there.

Why should I feel guilty for this? I’m glad. Thank god the vulture had some niglet meat to survive on. Animals have to eat as well.

It’s just a shame when animals like niggers get to eat. When niggers can sustain themselves instead of starving like they ought to they get to produce more nigger spawn which will inevitably rob, rape, or kill a human (white person).

Why should I care if such dangerous beasts live or die? When they get into human countries (white countries) they kill and rape us with impunity.

Thank god this nigger beast didn’t grow up or have children to victimize us
