Some Stuff I Think You Might Like #2
A weekly round-up of all the best articles, videos, and podcasts that probably didn’t make your newsfeed.
Arguably the most soul-crushing aspect of being a writer – aside, of course, from the melancholia, near constant back pain, grinding poverty, frequent bouts of self-loathing, and almost comedically stereotypical predisposition to alcoholism – is learning to admit when you’re beat.
And goddammit, I am - at least for now - beat.
You may recall a couple weeks ago, I published the first in this series of round-ups in which I mentioned a piece I was working on entitled Propaganda, Ukraine, and the Power of Conscious Unknowing. Inspired by Eckhart Tolle and his teachings on human perception, this was intended to explore the mindset required to be a discerning consumer of information amid the ongoing optics battle in Eastern Europe. What I did not foresee, however, naïve as it now sounds, was the rate at which this battle would degenerate - wild conspiracy theories reestablished as verifiable fact faster than Snopes could slap a “Mostly False” label on it.
Anyway, my point is that the emergence of new information is currently outpacing my capacity to integrate it, and so, with apologies and several shards of laptop still embedded in my knuckles, I’ve had to temporarily set that project aside for in favor of something a little less abstract - a dive into how the MSM rebrands civilian victims of the Ukrainian war so as to appeal to middle-class westerners.
That, mercifully, should be in your inbox within the next few days, but in the meantime, if you haven’t tried Substack’s new reader app, please allow me to recommend you do. Wary to avoid charges of shilling, I’ll just say it’s pretty great, and so in order to get you started, here some articles by writers whose work has, if not exactly alleviated the horror of the preceding week, then at least provided that horror with form and a grotesque kind of meaning.
1. We are in the Trenches of an Information War - Break the Matrix!
When we look back on this period in human history (providing there are still humans to look back and not just the soulless, genetically-engineered serfs of the corporate aristocracy), I contend that the period we are now living through will come to have been recognized as World War III. This is a war not fought (primarily) with guns, tanks, bombs, and bullets, but rather with an arsenal of psychological weaponry the scale and intensity of which cannot yet be fully comprehended. Naturally, this makes for a nebulous kind of conflict, Break the Matrix! doing as thorough a job as I’ve read of outlining the contours.
Considering channels like RT America, which has recently been forced to shut down after over a decade on air, was one of the only large adversarial news outlets to question the “official” narrative, criticize the hegemony of the American Empire, and often helped shed light on many of the lies peddled by America's establishment media.
Expanding and reinforcing this kind of echo chamber where the career propagandists of the American oligarchy / military industrial complex are be able to shape reality into whatever they want it to be is frightening. To put it simply, giving lifelong pathological liars and mass murderers and monopoly on what is “true" is a terrible idea.
2. The Federal Case Against The Biden Crime Family is not at the Mercy of Internet Bloggers - Brian Cates
For those of you who may not know, Brian Cates (of X22 Report, The Epoch Times, and Uncover DC) is and has been for some time, one of the most underappreciated figures within the sphere of independent content creators. There is, of course, no need to reiterate the importance of decorporatized media to anyone with the gumption to be on Substack, but nevertheless, it would be wrong of us to overlook the reality that, among the vast majority of reporters striving toward the Truth, there are, regrettably, a few bad actors.
This needn’t even be intentional. Whether through overzealousness, poor journalistic practices, or just the fevered desperation for clicks, there are plenty of online personalities who claim to be privy to information they most assuredly cannot be - a phenomenon which seems to have reached its zenith during the Hunter Biden laptop saga. With the internet awash with the kind of footage that would test Ted Bundy’s constitution, it can often be tempting to believe that Rando_1776 really does have the evidence that will finally bring down this dynasty of criminal degenerates, Mr. Cates providing a much-needed reality check.
Let me state this very clearly so there’s no confusion: US Attorney for Delaware David C. Weiss, the FBI, and the federal grand jury that’s been hearing evidence against the Biden Crime Family for going on 4 years now are not working in conjunction with any collection of yahoo bloggers on the internet when it comes to the public release of evidence in this investigation.
There are national security issues up the wazoo all over this case. The evidence is under seal and the grand jury proceedings are being conducted in the strictest secrecy.
3. The War for Young Minds - Techno Fog
Government-funded perverts are coming for your kids. That’s not to sound hyperbolic, but they totally, totally are.
In an age as decadent and ego-driven as ours, there can surely be few more troubling measures of the rot which has penetrated our society than the willful, taxpayer-funded sexualization of children - an evil which, if you’ll forgive me the shameless plug, I touched on just a few days ago.
In this article, Techno Fog - definitely one of my favorite Substack writers - takes a more direct approach, exploring the kind of techniques predators-posing-as-teachers use to indoctrinate malleable young minds, as well as the warped motivations of those who sent down the orders.
Fair warning: if you decide to click on the link, please be prepared to have something soft and punchable at hand.
The use of schools - what is properly understood as a structure of power - by the Left is part of the recognition that the poor and middle class would never bring about true revolutionary change. Dramatic cultural change would have to be instituted by the powerful, bringing about what we might call the top-down revolution. And that is what we are seeing with the targeting of grade-school children with programming and instruction opposed by most parents.
4. 110 Articles Affirm America’s Computerized Voting System is Online, Compromised, and Vulnerable to Hackers - KanekoaTheGreat
In a statement that will come as no surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention, the 2020 election was absolutely and unequivocally stolen. If you’ve not yet come to that realization, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you’re at least two Covid jabs deep and reading this behind Ukrainian flag face mask.
Needless to say, no one article has the scope to cover the array of ballot harvesting, media collusion, and general shenanigans required to bring an incontinent old pervert to the White House, but here KanekoaTheGreat, one of the hardest working writers on this site, provides a characteristically stellar account of how both software and hardware deficiencies have provided ample leeway for unscrupulous operators to subvert the democratic process.
Contrary to popular belief, all electronic voting equipment can be hacked because all such equipment must receive programming before each election from memory cards or USB drives prepared on election management systems which are often computers not only connected to the internet but also running out-of-date versions of Windows.
If a county election management system is infected with malware, the malware can spread from that system to the USB drives, which then would transfer it to all the voting machines, scanners, and ballot-marking devices in the county.
5. “The Adults in the Room” are Always the Most Colossal Screwups - Michael Tracey
In the lead up to the 2020 election and with an abject lack of coherent policy, likeable running mate, or a candidate in control of either bowels or brain, the Biden PR machine was almost wholly reliant on marketing their man, in stark contrast to their portrayal of Trump, as the only surefire way of avoiding economic collapse, the further fracturing of society, and an as-yet-unspecified nuclear Armageddon.
This, to put in mildly, hasn’t exactly panned out.
Throughout this article, Michael Tracey (hardly a virulent right-winger) profiles the the shadowy collective who, according to the state sanctioned narrative, were the only ones protecting the planet from Trump’s supposed recklessness, but who now, under Biden, have been reduced to cleaning up the President’s frequent and increasingly frequent, war-provoking booboos.
Striding triumphantly from Brussels, Biden headed to Rzeszow, Poland — a city near the Ukraine border I’d just visited and written about. It’s a place absolutely crawling with profiteers and spooks, i.e. the kind of people who look at a large-scale warzone and see a lucrative business opportunity. So it was a fitting venue for Biden, long a cherished ally of many military-industrial ventures; hence his tour of a new US military installation erected on his orders to facilitate the largest arms-funneling operation in Europe since the 1940s.
As he bantered with the troops, Biden exhibited a kind of lassitude that would be understandable for any 79-year-old with jet lag. Understandable, but perhaps a bit worrisome when that 79-year-old happens to be President of the United States.
